Dr. John Deese, UNC Pembroke class of 2000, is a chiropractic physician in Pembroke, NC. Dr. Deese shares his thoughts on the importance of a college experience.

Transcript:
My father went to UNC Pembroke.
My mother went to UNC Pembroke.
My older brother was going as well.
The college experience, I think every young person should have.
You can advance and make money a lot of different ways and have a successful career but you can’t get your youth back.
You can’t get that 4 years between being 18 to 22, 23, 24 back again, where education makes you think and experience life through through the challenges of education.
In a round-about way, once you walk out of those doors, you should be more secure in who you are vs. less secure because you’ve been challenged, you’ve been pushed.
I think education’s vitally important in the development of young people as they move forward in their life.
