Its feature film Simple Wedding, starring Rita Wilson and Oscar® nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo, is set for an August 2019 theatrical release by Blue Fox Entertainment. Production just wrapped in New York City on its feature film God the Worm, starring Annabella Sciorra and written and directed by Eric Schaeffer. Mainstay is also developing the film adaptation of Trevor Noah’s New York Times-bestselling memoir Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, which won the James Thurber Prize for American Humor and multiple NAACP Image Awards. Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther) is set to star and Liesl Tommy will direct. Noah and Nyong’o will produce alongside Mainstay for Paramount Players. Mainstay is also producing the Roy Wood Jr. pilot Jefferson County: Probation, currently shooting in Birmingham, Alabama.
