A few months ago, Austin and I were driving down the street when we noticed just how many small businesses we were surrounded by. On one street we counted 20 businesses! As small business owners ourselves, we started talking about what a process it must have been to get the businesses up and running to where they are now. We wanted to know the owner’s full story- how did they come up with the idea? How long have they been around? Whats their favorite part about owning their businesses?!

The list could go on and on.

Then the idea hit us- WHAT IF we made a series all about local business owners and how they got started? How can we use our resources to unite the community to support fellow small businesses?! WHAT IF… we could let people online MEET THE MAKERS of the community.

We contacted businesses all over the valley. Not a lot of people caught vision of the game changing series we were trying to produce surprisingly. But all it took was a few other small businesses owners to get this series up and running! These businesses hold similar values as us and its very apparent in what they do. All the businesses in this series want to unite people and create a connection.

As photographers and videographers, Austin and I work with other business quite frequently whether that’s a wedding or commercial work. Something that we continually noticed was that every other business owner we met WANTED to make friends with more people in the community. They wanted to stretch their services to more people. BUT there was a lack of connection… Owning your own business can feel competitive, lonely and frustrating when you know have a great service to offer but you don’t know how to share it with the world.

Thats where we come in.

We want to be a help aid to the COMMUNITY in educating how rad the small business owners in the area are and we want to benefit BUISNESS OWNERS by helping them share their story.

Every other week we will be featuring another business and the amazing work that they do. What the world needs now more than ever is CONNECTION instead of competition. Lets start off the new decade with SUPPORT.

Welcome to Meet the Maker.
